Persecution Of Conservatives In Norway

No wonder the left around the world are so enamored with the Scandinavian model. Going by this video Norway is well down the politically correct path to perdition. Apparently they are using the Breivik attacks to justify persecuting conservatives:

Since the glory days of Chairman Mao, an effective way to silence dissent has been to make an example of a few individuals, and crush them in front of the public so that others dare not say anything similar. That’s what we’re witnessing now.

Not just in Norway:

Magistrate Charlie Rozencwajg …gagged Hinch from expressing any opinion in the media, including Twitter, and from “causing others to act in a manner that would contravene those conditions”…  Rozencwajg, who was involved with Community Legal Centres before being appointed to the bench by Labor attorney-general Rob Hulls…. the appointment of judges under the former government did become highly politicised, with many judges selected from Left circles… Only recently, one Hulls appointee, Judge Felicity Hampel, not only volunteered political views of the standard Leftist kind, but did so on the ABC’s Q&A chat show, defying the convention that judges should not only be impartial, but appear so.

There is a reason this blog is semi-anonymous. Who wants the worry and expense of a court case? Especially when you might come before a judge who appears to have been appointed because they are part of a cabal of like minded lefties. The legal intimidation and persecution of conservatives has a chilling effect on debate. It is meant to. It is an all too common version of he same phenomena on display in Norway.

The left in Norway are not letting the crisis go to waste. The Australian left went one better. They claimed foreign media behavior on the other side of the world justified an urgent review of Australia’s media. Talk about manufacturing a crisis. That this was the best they could do is proof positive the Australian government is incompetent – not that we needed any more proof. The Australia government launched an inquiry stacked with lefties which recommended government control of the media.

Naturally the left made use of George “change the government” Soros related groups to create a semblance of popular support for the government to do something about our media. As if in there is any lack of “real” people who instinctively turn to government to fix all woes. Having to rely on their pet pressure groups is a damning indictment of the whole project.

The international left look at how their fellow travelers have undermined other nations traditional culture and then seek to use the same methods themselves. The following was said of Britain, but could apply across the English speaking developed world:

Oikophobia: Parliaments and bureaucracies contain large numbers of oikophobes whose principal concern in exercising power is to pour scorn on national values and to open the way to their subversion. The domination of our own national parliament by oiks, as we might call them, is partly responsible for the assaults on our constitution, for the acceptance of subsidised immigration, and for the attacks on customs and institutions associated with traditional and native forms of life. The oik repudiates national loyalties and defines his goals and ideals against the nation, promoting transnational institutions over national governments, accepting and endorsing laws that are imposed on us from on high by the EU or the UN.
